Wright County Fishing Reports

June 14, 2000
by Kicker

Buffalo Lake: Fish are in 4'- 13' of water. Use a nightcrawler or Fuzzy grub w/leech around the shore line or jig on the sand flats. 1 1/2 lbs to 2 1/4 lbs fish are most common, but you will see a few 4 - 5 lbs come out.

Pulaski Lake: Water temp in this lake is the last to go up in the area so fish are still in the seep water. 25' - 30'. Small walleyes are found along the weed line in about 12'- 15' of water using a p-7f or a bs-9f Rapala. Drop a sinker about 3 feet from Rapala and troll slowly. If fishing deep water, 30+, try a bottom bouncer and then 6' of leader off to your Rapala. fish will strike hard and fast with this method.

Rock Lake: Walleyes are sticking to the shore lines. Leeches and Fuzzy grubs are working the best right now. Casting method is producing fish durring the early hours before sunset. After sunset you better have a lot of coffee because they don't start bitting untill around 1am. Feeding time verys depending on the surface temp. so check the weather before you go out.

Waverly Lake: Fishing is slow right now. Your best luck will be sticking to the weed lines and hoping to draw one out. A slow presentation is a must right now.
