Mankato Area Fishing Report

German or Clear Lakes are hot for crappie and sunfish, along with several other lakes in the area.

German has been producing some nice crappie in about 30 to 36 feet of water suspended from the bottom to around 18 feet down. Sunfish in 12 to 16 feet scattered around the flat in front of Beaver Dam Resort.

Clear Lake crappie in 22 to 30 feet caught at various depths, most of the Sunfish are coming from 12 to 16 feet fishing within 2 feet of the bottom.

Washington has also been giving up some nice fish, crappie, sunfish, and several northern in the 6 to 9 Lbs.

Crappie are going good on French Lake with most fish coming from 40 plus feet of water. Horseshoe, Francis, Lilly, Shields, Mazaska, Greenleaf, are all having there good days for panfish also.

Elysian and Francis Have been the best producers of big Walleye's early morning or late evening producing the best. Tetonka has been giving up a few good fish but most are in the 12 to 14 inch range. German has also been doing fairly well on Walleye a few being caught mixed in with the crappie in the deep water.
