Gary.
It's way to early in the year to be getting those kind of thoughts!
You'll go stir crazy by open water at this rate!!

Gary, breathe deep!
My prescription to you is sitting on the edge of a full bathtub with goldfish in it. I'd suggest light line (2 oz test) and small hooks (size 20). Also remember a bathtub is a no wake zone, and the use of gas motors is discouraged
The best bait for goldfish is sweet and sour pork remember they are from Asia!

Here's my favorite goldfish recipe, this makes 1 serving.

Fillet, 372 1-2 inch goldfish.
Dust the 744 fillets with Shore Lunch, and deep fry until golden brown.
Serve on a bed of rice noodles, with spicy chili oil on the side.
Bon Apetit.

Don't forget the ice cold adult beverage!

By the way we have open water here in Missouri!
Walleyes have been good on the mighty Mississippi, jigs and minnows (as big as you can find, species doesn't matter) in current breaks on rip rap, from dams to 1/2 mile below.

They're moving up to stage for spawn.

Sounds like fun! A great way to ward off cabin fever. Sushi anyone?
