How did everyone do on deer opener? I wasn't able to get all day in today, but sat out until early afternoon. Saw one fawn but can't take antlerless. Too much corn still up to really get the deer moving!

I hunted ducks... and only got 4... couple guys at my buddies farm hunted, and got one small buck and saw some others, small buck and some fawns does.
I start my real deer hunting this Thursday... my wife thought this past weekend WAS my deer hunting weekend, and now not too pleased with me... heh... I have been doing this for 4 years now, duck hunting on deer opener and then deer hunting following. Oh well...
hopefully they start moving.

Saw some deer, but it was slow. Didn't get the right opportunity yet.
There's still plenty of time and hopefully some corn gets harvested!

Taking today off - getting some chores done. It's so nice I'd probably fall asleep in the stand anyway. Gonna get back at it tomorrow.

Opening day me and my friend hunted the 90A I bought this summer. He shot an decent 8 point buck in the am on sat. He then shot a doe in the afternoon. He had to pass on Old Rake Head that was chasing the doe. Bummer for him, but that's the way it goes when you burn your buck tag on the first buck you see. I passed on a six pointer Saturday. Sunday the light rain was a pain. We didn't see any deer moving. Duck hunted near Alexandria Monday and got 4 mallards then drove home. I have the whole week off to hunt Old Rake Head. I'll probably be hunting alone so it may be a pain in the butt if I have to do a long drag, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Jerky, I bet your cousin is really glad you are such a poor shot! I'd rather see her hold that deer anyways... lol Nice pic of Little J. He's hooked.. CC: No coyotes this year, but an influx of feral cats. Coyotes have been taken down, and the cats moved in?
