Pheasant hunting has been tough so far, too few birds and most of them hens. So I'm leaving the Gym this morning at 6:30 am and hear a few roosters cackling, they break and fly right over me making all sorts of noise, they were spooked by a 10 point buck that I got into a staring match for a few minutes.
Get to work and I count about 100 geese in our pond. So thats how its going to be this year huh? I think I'm hunting in the wrong spots.

I hear you I see does all night in the parking lot in eden prairie at my work. They seem to stick their tongues out at me and laugh. On my way home from work at least once a week I run into a flock of 10 to 20 gobblers right off 212. The flocks of geese and ducks on the pond behind my apartment are massive. We are hunting the right place its just that the hunted are smarter than we think.

Just hold on until the crops are harvested and things should look better.

Try some CRP right around the edge of some crops about the last hour of sunset. Have had our best luck hunting that last hour of daylight. Have seen quite a few birds this year. Monday evening My buddy shot one with a 24" tail feather. Nice Bird.
