Not a pro here by any means, but I think you need a little more aperture on the close ups, unless that is the effect you were looking for. But nice photos non the less.

You do have some good shots here. I will provide just some minor feedback since you asked. You are getting some cool colors on those first three, not to be unexpected with all that blue grey from the sky's and water. A bit of a warm up might get you closer to the correct color. You can do this in post processing or you can set your white balance on the camera to possibly the cloudy setting. A quick shot and check of your camera LCD will tell you if you like that look or not. smile

I also find especially with water shots it is more pleasing to the eye to make sure your water line (on the horizon) is straight and level. If not it tends to look like the water is draining out of the picture. Keep on shooting, you are well on your way! smile

upnorth: I was going for a shallow DOF, but now that you mention it next time I do a similar shot I will try opening my aperature up and comparing it to how I did these afterwards.

Dbl: Thanks for the compliments, I did start playing with my white balance toward the end of the day but not too much, its a new concept for me. I was also playing with a polarizing filter I just picked up. I do notice the water line now that you mention it, I usually try to make it straight but that first photo really bugs me now that I look at it lol. Thanks for the feedback once again, I've learned a ton just in the last couple weeks.

Thanks everyone.

That's an interesting way of putting it. But, it actually does look that way when you think about it. smile
