Sounds like the numbers are up all over the state...

I'm headin over to my cabin on Colby Lake this weekend and was wonderin how the grouse hunting has been around Hoyt Lakes to Babbit?

The wife and I are are going to try and get a meal, see if I can get her to shot her second, and hopefully more grouse... Maybe drop the boat into Colby and see if the walleyes are hitting... Do a walleye and grouse meal....mmmmmmmm

The walleye's are never hitting on Colby, best bet is cross the highway to Whitewater. I grew up across the street from Colby, and it's a good northern/panfish lake. Eye's are few and far between though. Grouse used to be pretty good south of town on highway 11 and the Mooseline road, but haven't been up there this year yet.

Our family has had a cabin on Colby since the early 1900s... in fact our cabin use to be on the Public beach and then they made my Grandparents move it... Did it in the winter on skids.. now on the Laskin Road...

As far as walleyes... just got to know where to go... I've caught plenty in there and some really nice ones...

Our trip there only produced a couple birds... Did the Skibow and Mooseline areas... Picked the wrong weekend... MEA Weekend...oops... too many people... We did do a nice walk into Cranberry lake...

Sounds like a nice time anyway Northdrifter. Got any good plans for winter trout yet?

You can catch them on Colby, IF you want to go anchor next to 10 other boats at the Power Plant Discharge. You can catch them other places on the lake, but they're few and far between. I grew up walking across the road and fishing colby though.
