Things were getting a little heated at the jelly feeder the other day . This was the best shot I could get, I 've never seen them fight like this so it was fun watching. Can't wait for the babies!

Hmmmmm. I think I need to see a photo of your feeder set up--looks interesting. Thanks for the bird behavior shot --that's what I like about this forum. It's not about the perfect composition, its just all about these critters that we love to watch, and sharing those moments that tickle or capture us.

Thanks, I'll get a close up of the jelly feeder, it's pretty easily made out of a couple of small pieces of cedar.

Birdsong, here's the close-up on the jelly feeder, I just took 2 cedar strips
about 7 in. for the vertical and about 6 in. for the horizontal piece, drilled a 1 and 3/4 inch hole with a hole saw for the cup and put a small perch on the end of the horiz. platform. Used wood screws to hold it all together. I've used this same one for several years and I have had Catbirds, Cardinals, and Housefinches use it, besides the Orioles.

Thank you. My commercial one did not outlast the squirrels this year. I will have to get handy. Then I assume you have other feeders hanging from these crossbars and a baffle of some kind? Does it work for squirrels? On a stand, or in the ground?

I also have Hummingbird and Oriole nectar feeders and a thistle feeder. The pole goes into a pipe mounted in the ground and it has a baffle so no squirrels and if I keep the pole greased, no raccoons either.
