Where do I find parking regulations for boat launches along the St Croix? I'm specifically wondering about how long I can leave a vehicle and boat trailer parked at the Boom Site launch north of Stillwater, but a resource for other launches would be handy too.

Thanks!
Seth

The Minnesota DNR has a publication titled: "Twin Cities Water Recreation" which is a map of the seven county metro area listing public boat accesses and fishing piers. You can obtain a free copy by calling 651-296-6157 or visit their website at http:www.dnr.state.mn.us

The DNR Boomsite launch site north of Stillwater has no parking limitations. You can launch from there and leave your vehicle overnight. Most island campers do that - be advised that launch fills up fast on the weekends. Parking is limited and if you don't follow the parking rules posted or if you park in the wrong spots you will get ticketed.

Two public launches I use are the Bluffs (no parking between 11 PM and 6 AM) and Prescott (no parking between 2 AM and 4 AM). If you use Beanies or Windmill, call and talk to them. I believe you can stay parked overnight there.

Is the Hudson launch open 24 hours or do they have certain hours? I would like to get out by 5-6 tomorrow and don't feel like coughing up $15

Don't know about Hundson but you would be fine in Prescott, though that is $10 unless you have a pass.

Thanks,

I saw a sign that said no parking from 2am-4am. I ended up launching a bit after 6 and there were 2 rigs in the lot already.

Last week Dan and I launch out of there around 3:30 and there were already four trailers in the lot.
