little red lund... what a real man you are... fishing with kids is fun and you have to make it enjoyable to them by not having to teal with turds that seem to be all grumped because they are having to much fun for you...

I'm not "that guy"..I have a red lund...the guy in the post had a white lund...my point is we "all" have had experiences like this at one time or another, especially on ML...we get mad for a little while, maybe exchange a few four letter words and get over it. I bet if we asked "that guy" his perspective,he would have a different point of view of how things went down...there's always two sides to every story...we are just getting one person's side of the story... I guess it is too bad that there were kids involved.

Wow!! The guy & his kids did nothing wrong and you say things like that. Are you "that guy"? It sound's very much like he might be, doesn't it? When in doubt, I have a simple rule that I follow. "Don't sweat the petty thing's and don't pet the sweaty thing's!" LOL! 1DIRTBALL

I'm not "that particular guy" but I not afraid to let someone know when there too close, but I never claim a "spot" to be my own.. what gets me is when I catch a fish or you see someone else catch a fish suddenly there's an armarda of boats circling around the boat that caught the fish...I've also learned you never ever put out a bouy marker...I always have a musky rod in the boat at all time with a biggest jake lure they make..so consider yourself fore warned...

... I guess it is too bad that there were kids involved. I agree that kids shouldn't have to deal with this [PoorWordUsage], but should it end with them? I don't want to have to deal with that [PoorWordUsage] either, and I haven't been a "kid" for quite some time! There's a lot of water out there. If someone's in "your spot" today, just remember that you might be in theirs tomorrow.

So what if other boats fish next to you if you get a fish. Guess what dude, thats part of fishing in MN. I'd say if you cann't handle it you need to find a new hobby. But why don't you just do that regardless, we deffinently do not need people like you on the lakes.

Wow i wish i would have met up with either of these guys, one question i have for little red is this. say i am fishing and you come in to join in, and start to drift toward my boat. Are you going to have issues with me since i am not moving toward you or should i just move to avoid any confrontation with you? Why would you not be considerate enough to move? one last thought, toss that big muskie rig in my boat and hold on cause you will go for a ride like you have never imagined. I would sacrifice my pole and lure to make my point, along with the DNR knowing of your actions. and god forbid you hook my son or wife, it would make for a very long day for you. good day and good fishing.

I do agree with LRL. There are two sides to every story (I am guilty of it also) and the side being told by one person always favors that person. I just get a kick out of it when people flip-out about a single post, and go into attack mode because of what was posted is not what they would like to see I do not see LRL attacking anyone but see a bunch of "good" doers attacking him. Then you have a post like above and we wonder where the problems start. I am sorry the orig. Poster's kids had to see this. All I can say is I have been fishing ML for years (like most in this forum) and have been very lucky to never run into anything like this. Heck I never have run into this on any lake that I can recall. Maybe I am not looking hard enough I guess. I understand there are crazy people out their and the best thing I have found is to let my "pride" slip when I feel things like this could happen. Expecially when my kids are with me. When some one does not like what I have done on the road (with my kids with me or not), is raging out, I wave and smile now. After it is over I have a good chuckle and move on. If someone was to start yelling and swearing around my kids I would again swallow my man "pride", take the high road and do somthing in the boat (say "hey kids look what dad has in his tackle box"). Not involve them in the situation and keep them from even knowing. Right after this pack up and move far away. Forget about it and enjoy the rest of the day. By the end of the day I would not even remember what happened enough to make a thread about it on FM. Anything more than that I let that other person win. If I made a thread about it then I would be reliving the situations for days after and maybe weeks. It comes down to people are people and nothing anyone does is going to change that person and do not become "that guy" while the situation is going on. Being the "tough guy" on-line or in real life IMO is showing off the "that guy" side of your self. Any confrontation I have been involved with in my life (as hard as it is for me to admit) was partly my fault when when all is said and done. So to keep my self out of these situations I have to look at my actions first and formost. Sometimes I am sure you will just meet up with a crazy nut that no matter what you do sone thing will happen, but it takes my self controlling my self not to further it and let the crazy guy win. All things I said above are just what I have found to work for me and may not work for others. I could be totaly wrong also.

I agree wholeheartly Shackbush. However if my 13 yr old son were with me, he is old enough to know that a guy yelling at me for "being too close" or being in his area, is a bunch of [PoorWordUsage]. He would be more libel to yell or say something back to a guy screaming at him or me. I would sooner just move out of the way, however you sling a lure at me, then it is a different world. I am not one for confrontation but will not sit by why someone bashes me especially if i am in a boat on a 100k acre lake. Seems like [PoorWordUsage] to me.

I wasn't really serious about the musky lure..I would never intentionally cast at another boat...It was an attempt at sarcasm...I've drifted many times around other many other boats on small mudflats without any problems or bobber fished along side other boats...no problems...what does irritate me is these guys that come upon a group of boats circle around for awhile to see if anyone is catching fish, or there watching there depth finder or gps like there trying to find a certain spot...they circle around and if they see nobody catching fish they leave without even wetting a line...they do more driving around than fishing...As far as the incident with "that guy" who knows what really happened ..there's always two sides to every story...

It's amazing that such a fun relaxing sport can spawn attitude in some people, but all sports have them. It's not really the sport that causes attitudes, I think most are already p*ssed about life & are just looking for a venue to justify it. Unfortunately we're just there to serve their purpose. The more people there are, the more patience that is required. L2f
