I haven't fished vermilion in years and am going to spend the weekend at a cabin on pikes bay. anyone have some tips for some eyes and smallies. fow? type of structure? How about around Duffy? I have read from other forums that gold is a good color and probably leeches and worms. any other information would be appreciated.

There are a lot of smallies in Pike Bay. fish the shorlines and docks.
You may pick up a feww walleyes trolling Raps around Duffys and on the South side of Hoodoo Point. Also have caught walleyes trolling right down the middle of the bay!
Try a plain hook baitrig with a crawler or leech in deeper water.

From what I've found, it is really tough to find decent numbers of walleyes in Pike Bay after June. The bay is just too shallow and gets really warm. I would suggest venturing east to Big Bay for a better shot at fish.

If a guy were to go up to the big V around July 25, could he find any smallies in Pike Bay still in shallow (topwater baits maybe?) our would they be out deeper?

There are always smallies and walleyes in Pike Bay!
You may have to target them at sunrise while the water is cooler to do best.
