is???

I have a buddy coming up for the 4th of July and we are going to hit some LM Bass. Not interested in the river so much, but would be partial to heading above the dam in Sartell if the area produces. All catch and release.

Lakes/River where do you think? Any thoughts?

Thanks

CEDAR BY ANNANDALE SEEMS TO PRODUCE GOOD SIZE LM AND PRETTY CONSISTENT. MY FAVORITE LM SPOT IS NON MOTORIZED, BEHIND ST.JOHNS CAMPUS CALLED SAGATAGINAW (NOT SURE OF THAT SPELLING) BUT IVE CAUGHT MY BIGGEST THERE! GOOD LUCK

Clearwater or Big birch are my two favorite lakes for largies and Green by Spicer and Koronis are my favorite smallie lakes. Also above the blanchard or sartell dams are good for smallies.

Pearl and Grand have some piggies in them, too...and they should be sitting in the shade under the docks by then. Big Fish does, too...in fact, ALL the lakes have pretty solid LM fishing around here, and I'm not sure that one is inherently better than another.

Above Sartell can be dynamite for smallies, but a lot depends on your boat...if you have a bass boat or one that rides pretty shallow, you can go far enough north to get into some fast current (and therefore better fishing, in my humble opinion). If not, you can still catch lots in the deeper, slower water above the Sartell dam, but I don't think the fishing is as good up there than it is in the shallower, faster sections around town.

the Miss north of the Royalton dam is an easy and safe ride for even the biggest boat.

fish the trees with top water, cranks work too.....

My favorite largemouth lakes/river include Grand, Pearl, Sauk River sections of the chain. For smallies I like Koronis, Rice and the Mississippi river.

Good Luck!
