The Weather I mean! OK, I usually skip opener (dislike the ignorant crowds) I skipped last weekend because of weather. Now, I have made the annual Mem. Day for years and am taking of the entire next week as well." Wizard of Oz tune for the lake... Lightning, rain and cold - oh my" Lightning, rain and cold - oh my" Lightning, rain and cold - oh my" Oh well, a cold wet day on the lake is better than a warm one as a desk jockey. What is the water temp? Rain warming it up? I don't have access to a computer while @ the lake but, I will update where, when, & how upon return. If you are in Armstrong - stop in the north cabin and have a beverage or 2. Is there a certain marine channel people are on? Butch Brula (I would be little Butch - Daves oldest) Great fishing to all!

Do you duck hunt in there? A few years ago, we were casting down in Armstrong. Noticed that people were setting up at the end near the creek for duck hunting. We turned around, and headed back toward that cabin, away from the blind, (nice looking place). We chased up 6 mallards from the cabin, heading out of the bay. They final headed east when I fired up the motor. I always wondered if they got those ducks. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate. Good luck! ------------------ Metro Chapter IBOT #130. I'm with you duluthguy. My wife and I are coming up for a full week and right now the forecast is showing rain for 5 of the 7 days and cloudy for the other 2. At least it will be mildly warm. Rainy and 60 is alot better than rainy and 40. And if you read this Doug, Leslie said she expects you to take care of this forecast before we get there. =) Wally H

Hi Butch, The water temp. is very slowly warming up again after dropping 3 degrees last week! Big Bay averaging 49-50 degrees and Pike Bay at 51-53 degrees. Still very cold water for this late in the season. Have been getting reports that the walleyes are starting to move back into Pike Bay now, so the rest of the smaller bays should be the same. Say hi to Dave for me! Cliff ------------------ Cliff's Guide Service CliffsGuideService-LakeVermilion.com Lake Vermilion Phone: (218) 753-2005

Hey Wally, I can't control the weather, however I talk to the One who does daily. I'll put in a request. On the other note, I am on some good fish. The blueberries are ripe. See you Saturday, well get out ASAP, 3/8 oz. orange jig, also Parrott and blue. OOPS,putting the good info out now.
