I would like to clear something up. Is it ok to park at the WPA parking lot off 37 and pull a portable by hand out to the lake from there or not? I want to be sure, before someone gets upset. Again, I am on foot. No wheeler or snowmobile. Its perfectly legal as long as you don't use a motorized vehicle past the parking area.

Pretty funny from a guy that can't tell what private property means Jeepguy...
Just let me know when all of my buddies and I can come over and drive our four wheelers and pickups across your families yard and stuff.......
I lost my access other than by walking just like you did this year..... but the difference between you and I is I have another PRIVATE ACCESS spot on the North Side that I will be watching you drive from the otherside of the lake from......
You never did reply after blindly bashing me for getting upset when you drove through the cable that I had across PRIVATE LAND 2 years ago.... And you were asked to leave after you set up as the snow was to deep for you to get off of the lake any other way...... Tell the whole story.....
Come on over, the beer is cold. We can drive all over my yard, I will even get a dozer and build some jumps. As far as telling the whole story....When I crossed, your "wire" had been taken down. I was driving a Jeep, hence the name Jeepguy, with a snowmobile trailer, so I am sure that if there had been a wire I would of got hungup somehow.

I love jumping onto a post and seeing a full blown catfight. You guys need to join a Fantasy Football league or something....It will help get it out of the system.

No problem for me as I don't have anything to defend...... The wire that you are talking about was an 1 1/4" cable.... you are right it could have been down as there were several friends on the lake that day....
Jeepguy email me or stop in and talk sometime don't bash me.... In return I won't bash you.....
Pelican Lake as a fishing hot spot will come to an end in the near future and then everyone will look back and say, remember when that lake had those huge fish in it.... I enjoy the resource just as much as the next guy.. Just had to clear the air.....
I will have another private access point to the north end this year but it is not covieniant to use right now as there is no good parking by it.... But once a person is able to drive on look me up.....
Have fun fishing see ya on the Lake!

I will stop bashing and may stop by one of these days. Is there actually still crappies with any size in this lake, I thought they took most out for the Minneapolis kids fishing ponds.

I typically don't fish the lake at the traditional times of day/days others do and have done very well most of the time Biggest REAL Crappie we caught last year was 15 1/8" but many in the 9-12" range..... Staying away from the group has always been the key for me... I also am constantly moving/trying different spots and you would be surprised what you can find......

Where we drilled yesterday, there was 7 inches of black ice.

was out yesterday, holy pike. Tons of pike where I was at. Pretty cool to watch them on the camera. No panfish. Saw some on the camera, but then nothing. Tried 5 spots or so, and fished for 3hrs total.
And man was there a ton of people out there. Most guys seemed to be moving a lot, and the ones I talked too, did not have much luck. Only a few small ones here and there.
word is out, but the word it is not good.
