03 honda rancher
I think the battery froze had to pull start but wont stay running
at idle ? is there anything else it could be.
wont run with out the battery in.
I'm thawing battery out slowly now to try in .
any ideas ?

Very possible that the battery may just be bad. You can bring it to most auto parts store and they will check it for free.

we have an 03 also but havent had any problems w/ the battery....now the Electronic Shift,thats another story...its been to the shop 12 times to get that fixed and Honda has done nothing about it! good thing my dad got the extendend warranty but that ran out last march...anyone else have ES problems?

I just replaced the battery in my 03 rancher last week (original). I also have the ES and had only one problem with it when it wouldn't shift. It was -40. I had to pull start and use the emergency lever to put it in 3rd gear. It was a long cold ride off the ice, but better than walking. That was 2 years ago and have not had a problem since.
