Welcome to the site guys.
You should attend the "Annual Early Ice Event Fish Lake Dec 13th".
That will give you a little head start on one area lake.

went out the south kawish today huntin for pike.

had two on lost them both....both of them came off as soon as i got to my mono line....one felt like a good fish...the other i saw at the bottom of the hole..it would have been a great eater..6fow by the weeds....tip up with quickstrike and a sucker

tried for eyes for just a little bit...my gloves got wet and that was the end of me...next time ill bring an extra pair

it was cold and windy today

5-6 inches of ice....better ice in the bay...some of the ice was flaky

No, I will be this weekend sometime though. Hopfully with this cold weather that channel will be better. Have you been up that way since Thanksgiving weekend?

went out today on a small ely area lake fishin for pike

did really good.

first sucker i sent down was picked up by a pike before i could even set the tip up down!

landed probably 20 pike....all most all of them where on tip ups and a couple came from jiggin

5fow...sucker down about 2ft...green weeds

caught lots of 15-20" did get a 22 and 24 for the fry daddy

and my first fish of the day

a pig! rod is 34in long...im thinking 38"...seem right?

she was fat

made about 3 runs from the hole...the first time i saw it go by the hole i about sh*t

took a picture and let her go

great day on the ice

I would be very careful. Back bays should be ok but I would drive by and see where the snowmobiles are going. I wonder if the main lake portions are frozen enough for sleds yet.
