A friend of mine sent this e-mail about this guy catching a candian record northern is this ture or whSubj: Fw: MONSTER NORTHERN

This is a new record Northern Pike in Canada. He caught it on Rainy Lake
Check this thing out. The man (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36" Pike.

As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lbs Pike tried to eat it !!!!!

He landed them both in the same net. The last picture is unbelievable.

If I never saw this email again, I would be okay with that. This email resurfaces once or twice throughout the year. Its a bunch of B.S if you ask me. Supposedly the "real" story was that it was caught over in europe. Let me tell you, photoshop can work wonders. Sorry if I don't sound enthused, but this is about the 100th time I have heard that this fish was suppose to be caught on Rainy. People need to get a life man...

wherever it was caught man i'd love to fish that lake. I'd sh** my pants if i was realing in a 36" pike and a beast came and grabbed it like a minnow.

That picture is everywhere and the fish has been caught just about everywhere possible. Trails End Lodge on Clearwater Lake just down the road from me, has it posted on there fishing pictures. They just have the picture with the large pike eating the smaller one. Some stuff never seems to surprise me anymore.

HI SUPERBEE,
YOUR RIGHT THAT FISH HAS BEEN CAUGHT ON EVERY LAKE ON THE GLOBE, HOWEVER IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE GUY DID CATCH IT ON ANOTHER NORTHERN. THE LARGEST NORTHERN I HAVE EVER CAUGHT WAS 46" IN A LAKE IN CANADA CALLED MAINVILLE. I WAS REELING IN A HAMMERHANDLE MAYBE 2 LBS., WHEN THIS HUGE GATOR CAME AND GRABBED ONTO IT, AND THE DROPPED IT, I DROPPED DOWN AGAIN & IT GRABBED IT AGAIN...SWALLOWING IT, BUT I BELIEVE BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE FISH IT WAS SWALLOWING, IT CAME TO THE SURFACE & JUST KINDA LAYED THERE, I HAD 16 YEAR OLD KID IN THE BOAT, WHO JUST STARED AT IT, LIKE HE WAS SEEING SAW A GHOST...I SAID WELL DON'T JUST STAND THERE...GRAB THE NET....I HAVE ALSO HAD MANY OTHER BIG GATORS & MUSKIES GRAB WALLEYES WHILE REELING THE UP...MOST DROP THE FISH NEAR THE BOAT...BUT SOMETIMES YOUR LUCKY ENOUGH TO LAND THEM.
SINCERELY,
FISHMEISTER
