The wife says I can make a fishing trip over the weekend of Dec 19th. I have chosen to come up to URL for the first time. I am one a budget so I will be bring my perma/portable fishing to stay in for the weekend. Being I am fishing by myself,I see this as a great adventure. Whats a good spot to head out of and get bait at ? What is the best way to take up from the cities and any other tips you ULR (Jonny P) guys can give me to make my trip the best it can be and of course looking forward to meeting the man (JONNY P).

Ya there really isn't much to fishing out there. Just make sure you go out of Hillmans and they will point you where to go. I have had my best luck going out of Hillmans.

Hey Ace! Every year I go to LOW and Red solo on a power ice fishing trip. I've met some really cool people along the way. I tell you what though, I go during the week and coming off the lake in the dark pretty much by yourself can be an adventure. I've now included some buddies on my trip so the trip has more obvious problems. When sleeping on the ice alone it can be really peaceful too. I think I'm gonna work in a solo trip this year now that you got me thinking about it. Have fun.
Kid
I go 10 to 64 in Motley to 210 (it's a tee) left, turns into 71. Follow to 72 (blackduck) all the way to Waskish. For me this has been the fastest way from Burnsville. I've taken the way through Grand Rapids. The only thing is if you're doing any traveling at night my way is pretty dark and remote in spots. Good Luck

Well ya better look me up so I can get out of all th xmas stuff I am susposed to do that weekend. I also think Pikester is rolling through the same weekend...bound to a good time. Look me up at the show this weekend. As for the route I do the Moose lake Grand Rapids deal but 73 has gotten pretty bad the last few trips I think my kidneys bled a little from the rough road.

Maybe I'll just punch Hillmans in the GPS and take it from there. I am looking forward to meeting you and maybe get a few tips from ya. I should be getting up their around 9am or so if I leave by 4am. I know we will be drive out by them but I might bring the sled up for some fun.

I'm packed and ready to go. I will be hitting the road by 3:30am, I really wish the snow on the way would hold off.
