Gull Lake Update

The wind still kept much of the lake open today. It had skimed over last night but it was pushed around today. It is pretty cold out so if the wind will lay down tonight she should seal up. Plus the forecast looks great for making ice. It should happen pretty fast now. Anglers have been fishing the south end south of Squaw Point and down into the bays. As well as the upper chain. Fishing should be decent this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Sill some patches of open water this morning south of Squaw Point and out in the main lake to the north of Squaw Point. Won't be too much longer for the lake to seal up.
Still need to be extremely carefull out there.

The open patches on the south end of gull froze over last night. With this cold spell we should make good ice really fast.
Again, be careful since a good part of the lake just froze over the past few days.

Is the ice getting any thicker on the north end of gull yet? I was hoping to get out this weekend. If I wanted to fish the north end, where is the best place to access the lake.

There was a guy on a fourwheeler with a small dropdown fishhouse out on Whitehouse bar tonight. Must be at least 5-6 inches as he did not go through.

Fish the last two nights and ended up with four walleyes caught, each night. Half came jiggin and half on bobbers with shiners/rainbows. Tonight the bite was a bit tough after the front passed. We fished 15-17fow off the weedline. Ice not to far off shore was 5.5 inches.

Went off of Govt point checking ice last night. There was a guy who drove his Durango, trailer with a 6 x 8 permanent house and smowmobile. He stayed close to shore, but the depth drops off in a hurry. I have 9 inches of ice about 30 yards out, then it goes to 4.5 inches...I will be on the ice next week, but not with my truck.

Made Ice last night!!!!....Im putting the house out Monday. Im guessing there will be 7 plus inches across the entire lake. Except in the normal weal ice areas. Hopefully the snow doesn't do too much damage. Anyone been out?
