Is there a new access on the north end of Pelican off of 37? I heard the guy in the suburban is not allowed to patrol the area and prohbit lake access this year.

crappienator, welcome to FM.

no that is a WPA. alot of people are parking in the parking lot and draging their stuff out to the lake. the true access is on cr.117, but basically where ever the water comes up the road people are getting on the lake.

The DNR lake finder website lists 2 points of access. One being the concrete DNR landing off of county rd 15 and they list another one as "carry in" us fish and wildlife also county rd 15. Not sure if that makes sense to you, but that is what the DNR website says.

This is true. CR 117 has 2 public accesses on it and they are about a mile apart from each other. I think CR 117 used to be called CR 15, maybe the DNR site is just old.

I have accessed th elake from the north end on CR 37. Parking is a wildlife parking area. Drag stuff to the lake. Works rather well. I am sure there is a beaten path there now.

I have heard there are some ATV's driving on Pelican lake now. People will park at the public access and drive from there sometimes. Good luck fishing.

I would like to clear something up. Is it ok to park at the WPA parking lot off 37 and pull a portable by hand out to the lake from there or not? I want to be sure, before someone gets upset. Again, I am on foot. No wheeler or snowmobile.
