Stratosman,

Although I don't have the size info...they were over 50 inches of course. Twelve sturgeon where harvested on the Croix in the 06 and 07 years combined.

I should be getting some info on how this turned out and what is being recommended to the fishery commissioner, hopefully this week.

I'm very glad that there was a good input of emails while the comment period was open.

Thanks for all emails everyone. It sounds like a lot of comments were received.

Nothing has been offically approved yet, but here is what was proposed by Gerald:

Lake Sturgeon may be harvested on the first Saturday in September through September 30 on the Lower St. Croix River from the St. Croix Falls Hydroelectric Dam downstream to the mouth at Prescott, Wisconsin. The possession limit is one fish per calendar year for anglers who have purchased a harvest tag in advance and the minimum size is 60” total length. Catch and release angling for lake sturgeon is allowed from the first Saturday in September through October 15.
