How much ice is there in Bayport?

I see 3 portables out there today, and was thinking of going tomorrow. If anyone knows how much is there, please let me know. I see one guy walked across.
Also, does anyone know why they put the barracade at the park in bayport? Do they just not want anyone to drive out from there?

Yes, they do not want cars driving on the brach, not sure about the 4 wheelers. I was out today and there was about 4" of ice.

My son and i went out for about 2 and a half hours and got 2 crappies and a rock bass. it was slow and windy. Next time i might drag out the portable.

I went out today........stayed on the minnesota side. Caught 3 crappies in 2 hours. All about 10 inches. 5 inches of ice I'd say.

some guys put a permanent up over there today. They walked across from the mn side, so I would assume the wisconsin side is ok as well. I don't think any one is wandering up to the high lines yet.

Someone had a trap parked at the hi-line this afternoon. There's a good 6+ inches up that way, definitely more than out from Bayport and village area. It looks like it busted apart and refroze in a couple of places towards the hi-line, but it is thick. It looked like a good 5" all the way across the river from the Park to the wooden umbrella. There is a seam of sketchy ice going across the river basically running a couple of feet north of the Andersen road path, nothing too bad.

Hopeing to get out Sunday any one else? I was thinking of walking up on the Wis side any reports from Wis side? Big Jeff! We gotta get out there soon. How about next weekend...??

its to thin don't go....haha j/k the ice is about 6 to 6 1/2 inches yesterday i went caught 5 crappies n one sauger bout 25 ft on mn side hope this helps n good luck.
