Can anyone recommend a vets office on the North side of the twin cites (around Blaine, Ham Lake, Coon Rapids area)that offers AFFORDABLE pet care.
Lately I've been shocked to hear about the variation in cost of vet services which is mostly discretionary at the vet's office and am looking to find a vet that sets more reasonable prices than the one I have.
Any suggestions will be welcomed and appreciated.

I have a young lab that became lethargic and started throwing up after last weekends trip. I assumed he ate or drank something bad. This morning he was not doing well and the wife took him up to the Vet clinic in St. Francis. My wife said they were very nice and profesional. Total bill was $135 with exam, blood test and $52 of it for pills. I thought that was very reasonable compared to some other vets I've been to. I hope this helps.(he's already doing better tonight after he started the antibiotics) DrJ.

Not sure if it is the same one I go to or not, but I use St francis vet clinic. Its in Isanti right on 47 just north of st francis. I drive from right off of hwy 10 in anoka. It is a drive but I really like the service and the price. Much cheaper than right around my place.

Dr J glad to hear your lab's on the mend. We lost my Brit and Lab within the same year even though they were 5 years apart and after some time we decided to take the plunge again (plus I miss hunting upland over my own dog). So now I have two young German Shorthairs so you can see why I'm thinking about looking for an economical vet solution.
Thanks for the suggestion on St. Francis guys.

You can also try Oak Grove Vet. On the corner of Round Lake Blvd (9) and Viking Blvd(22). I switched to them to save $ as well. Well, I also switched because the previous vet looked at me with “extreme concern” when I pleasantly explained to them that I wouldn’t be brushing my dog’s teeth when they were giving me a tooth brush. It was then, I knew it was time to switch. Once I switched it was a nice surprise to see the bills were significantly less. Maybe because they don’t give away free doggie tooth brushes.

I use Kelly Animal Hospital on Lake Drive & Lexington Ave. I picked this vet strictly for the quality of the care and staff. The vets provide options for care and don't try to "guilt you" into treatments. I really appreciated this while they treated my 13 yr lab during his last year. My 15 month lab just had her annual exam, blood work and shots - less than $100.

Northern lights vet clinic on University and Egret in Blaine. It is right down a mile from my house, very reasonably priced. Have brought both my labs there for 6 years, they did my late labs(RIP) nuetering for less than $130 I think. In the spring they also send out postcards for their special heartworm clinic for pills annd frontline at a discounted rate for reegular customers.
