Got a report that the lake iced over, any truth to it?

Hi Gang: West end of Burntside is iced over now and making ice at a good clip. You can hear the lake making ice a half mile away when walking on the Wolf Lake Road in the evening.
There is virtually no snow cover on the lake and it is going to be well below zero most nights this week, so there should be substantial ice soon.
On the otheeeeeeerrrrrrrr hand, there was a lot of rain this fall and small creeks feeding the lake were flowing pretty well, and I can say for sure that here on the far southwest corner of the lake there was some open water in current pockets off the mouth of creeks as late as a day or two ago, so there are definitely areas of thin ice, and they are right on some popular snowmobile routes. Just saying.......

As of 4 today, no ice off the Van Vac landing as far as the eye could see.
As Hans stated, West end mostly frozen, but I have a large open area in front between Long Island and Kaleva Bay, and see some waves on the south west end of Long Island.
Another 4 or 5 days should lock it in.
