I thought it might be interesting and helpful to post your setup. Depth, decoy used and what direction the fish came in from. You can keep lake private but mention general location like metro, central, northern MN etc.

I'll start

Location: Central Minnesota
Date: 11/29/08
Time: 7:30 am til noon
Setup 6 1/2 feet of water on drop.
Speared a 29 3/4" at 8:00 came in from shallow & attacked decoy
decoy - red & white
Speared 31 1/2" at 9:00 came in from deep. Same red and white
Decoyed nice and slow.

Anyone else interested in logging their setup/sit.

I think its a good ideal!!! Myself and BassNSpear keep a log of all out fishing trips all year around. It helps us remember the small details that help us find fish smile

I have only speared one so far and it was on 11/30/2008 in central MN. I was in about 7 feet of water with drops to back and side from 2pm to 4pm. One came in at about 3pm very slowly from the deep behind me between the live and fake decoy. Fake was a small northern fire tiger color.

Great idea for a thread! I'm hoping to pick up an Eskimo or Shappell so I can port-a-spear soon, then I'll post my findings.

I thought it would be nice to follow the depth everyone sets up in and see as the season progresses where people are seeing fish and if they are coming in from the shallow or deep. Could be helpful. Decoy color might put some people on a pattern although can be lake dependent. Helpful to log in fish that one passes on as well.

this is a great idea. It will help you out in the long run if and when you go back to lakes that you never really go to alot. Great idea!
