Be careful on Eagle - Had open water last Saturday in the middle. Ducks and geese keeping it open.

Why would it take more seeds to go on Scotch than any other lake? It's shallow and relativly small I would think it would have some of the better ice in the area? Now if your out on Madison that would take a set, or no brains.

german should have walkable ice now, me and ktapper were there fishing the south side on tuesday last week. there is a big pressure ridge east of the island with a few open spots by the north shore. they should be closed up by now.

drove out to jefferson today. looks to be wide open in the middle in the deep water. looked to be a guy out in a spear house in front of beaver damb. also looked like 2 spear houses on german out from the bridge between german and jefferson.

Drove by Jeff and German today, Jeff had lots of open water. German had some open water also and there was 2 houses out there. Washington has some open water right out from the north access, but ice is ok in mud bay out from the bar. About 4-4.5 inches around there. I punched through in two hard hits with a chisel to scare my buddy lol. There were about 10 portables out. Fished 3 hours and it was very slow. I would think people will start driving four wheelers out there by this weekend

I just logged on to ask the same question: how much snow did the Faribault/Mankato/Waseca areas get today, and what might it do to the new ice? Is it a light powdery snow that will blow off the ice quickly with a little wind, or heavy wet stuff that will cause more problems?

I am heading up home this weekend, and would like to do some fishing in the area. Sounds like more snow might be coming Saturday...
