How is the ice coming along on the small lakes of the area? I was originally going to drive up north this weekend, but with the real cold night temps I'd rather stay closer to home. Might I see 7, 8, maybe even 9 inches by friday?

I believe they put a couple spaces in the guard rail so people can walk thru. If I remember there might even be a place to drive a wheeler/sled thru...I don't have one so didn't pay much attention when I walked out a few times last year. I'm sure someone on here knows though.

last year there was a guy to the west of the guard rail that was letting people use his lake drive, letting people for a buck or two drive threw his yard and onto the ice from there instead of driving all the way into chisago and comeing down the lake.

I was on chisago today out from the A frame and had about 6 inches of ice. The ice was way loud so it was making good ice, and it was only 2 degrees when we got off the lake at 9ish tonight
