Can somebody please explain Forest Lake to me? I know there are the 3 basins, but which is 1, 2 and 3? Also is the willow point access on North Shore Trail near the Lake House Restaurant? Thanks. In-laws just bought a place on FL and I am new to the lake.

lake 1 is right by town, 2 is west of the lake Lakehouse and three is anything to the east of th lakehouse. The access that the lakehouse sits on is also referred to as the willow point access. The resteraunt prior to the lakehouse that used to sit on the ponit was called Willow point and various other names over the years. Anybody going out fishing tonight?

I'm going to sneak out there for a couple hours on Lake 1 tonight.

Seen someone sitting at the deep hole on 2 today, even had a small wheeler out there with them. Wonder how the fishing was in the bright sun?

I've been walking/fishing all over in front of and to the left the Willow access. That broken up ice towards the restraunt is actually thicker and stronger then the clear stuff.

There has been 4-6" most areas of the lake so far where I have checked. There was still a small patch of open water on the Northwest side of first as of 3 pm yesterday so be careful out there the ice isn't uniform by anymeans. I have also noticed that there are pressure ridges in alot of the usual areas. Should be making max ice out there the next few days which may affect both the landings and the pressure ridge areas so use caution when travelling across the ice. Good luck out there and have a great day!

I stayed away from both. The closest I got to either was a couple hundred yards but could see them with the binoculars. Went out tonight and fished 12' on a sand/mud transition and found the eyes willing early but once the front blew in nothing would bite. Had some marks on the vex but couldn't get them to go.

I just looked at Lake 1 and saw open water out in the middle. Ice is pretty variable right now. Be safe!
