Today marked my last outing of the season. Sub-freezing temps get to be a pain in the butt when you have to de-ice your rod guides every couple minutes.

The carp did not have much size to them. There were a few bigger ones taking refuge under a major ice shelf. I hooked up with one for awhile before it broke loose, but I suspect I may have been foul hooked. The one bonus to cold water is the opportunity at big buffalo. I was blessed once again this morning with a nice one. The majority of the fish were caught on an X Factor nymph that were tied with craft yarn instead of antron yarn. A couple fish fell to a giant zebra midge pattern.

full report posted on my blog.

It's been a great year. Can't wait until next spring!

Loc: LeSueur Co,
I find that I foul hook alot of Carp also. I'm starting to think that Carp will swipe at bait with there tail to stun it before turning and eating it. In the last two years I must have foul hooked 30 carp while trolling. I have not foul hooked any other type of fish in this same time period. It may explane what Carp are doing when we see them hitting the surface. Just somthing to keep in mind next spring.
