Hey guys. I'm new to this forum, this is my first post. I want to thank all of you who give reports it's been a very useful resource when planning trips. Was on URL all day yesterday. Went out of West Winds. We had no less then 8" and as much as 11". Four guys three wheelers and two portables, we weren't out far, past the main break by a few hundred yards in nine/ten feet of water, no problems. We talked to a guy who went out to Lou Rayne Beach Cribs and then out (he said) at least 1 3/4 miles and reported 8" to 9".
Fishing was on the slow side 1-2 (Walleye)per hour, we caught 19, kept 5, got broke off by northerns twice and caught one samll snake.

Yes we have become quite spoiled fishing red lake our whole lives. Many other lakes I have fished over my lifetime and you were lucky if you landed one.

Resorts up on LOTW are talking about pulling their fish houses out by the 8th so the 19th is probably a good bet for red

My guess would be $$ and resort sizes. I would bet that if Red had some resorts the size of Sportsmans Lodge or Zipple there would be a few of them on the lake.

Maybe it is because you can drive a regular vehicle clear to the reservation line, where else would you go with a bombadier? You'd feel kind of funny crawling out of a bombadier when Shorty is driving by in his minivan.
