I was just wondering if anybody has thought about an informal get together in the north metro area. It would be fun to get together with a few and bring out the roadtrip grill and pull in some panfish or ?

I think that would be great! I live up in Lino Lakes and would love to get to know some other Anglers in my area. In the summer I am always looking for a partner to go out in my boat with me.

How bout this Saturday? I can get a good ice check on Thursday. I have a spot that is within 3-400yds walking distance. I am waiting on the coords from my son who is up in Ely. It's going to be a little nippy out, but if their is no wind it should be decent.

What lake are we talking about? I am open Saturday afternoon, will have to bring the 7 yr old with.

I am traveling to Medicine on Saturday but also plan on fishing Monday/Tuesday (two days off, woohoo!).

I just move to Lino Lakes a few months ago. Want to go out ice fishing one one these days on a local Lino lake?

OK, I checked the ice out on Centerville today. It is 3 1/2 to 4" everywhere I checked.It is good solid ice.
I brought the Marcum,a chisel, a jig pole with one shrimpo. I tried to find my close in spot but without my gps coords its a lost cause. Walked out to another spot and marked fish.
If you go out bring your spikes for your feet! Much easier walking a long distance.(A hockey helmet might be in order for little tikes) Hardly any snow for the portables so bring something to secure it in place. Then throw some slush/water aroound the edges to hold it in place.(It was windy out there today)
I will be going out tomorrow and Saturday about 1:00 each day till a little after sundown.
If anyone is interested in meeting up out on the ice or at the lake let m know. We should be able to catch some sunnies and crappies. And throw out a tipup.
A chisel is all you need. Or hand auger.

I will be going out around 1:00 on Saturday, Figured I would go out and set up, see what I can find, then have the wife drop off my son. I don't have a chisel or hand auger I just borrowed my buddies power auger. I will bring the depth finder heater and my portable (have to find a way to secure it).
