Well.......since everyone else is asking for deer reports in their area I thought I would as well.

Does anyone here hunt in the Remer area? If so, how did you do?

I hunted 3rd weekend at a camp just to the east of Remer with 4 other guys and no one even saw a deer. Very few tracks in the snow even. But it's fun to get away for the weekend in the primative shack environment with no electricity, no running water or bathroom. Just a homemade woodstove for warmth. Very cozy. I did win money and bragging rights at cards both fri. and sat. nights so all was not lost!

We hunt by Remer as well and went 2nd weekend this year. We ended up with an 8 point and 2 button bucks and that was for 13 guys. The deer were just not moving. Fresh snow didn't have a track in it for three days. Slowest year for us ever. Hopefully they have a good winter and get a chance to re-populate.

we hunt remer all 3 weekends every year. this year we hunted in a new spot and it was a good one. we had never been in that are before and we ended up seeing a total of about 15 deer all 3 weekends just in that spot. i ended up shooting a nice 6 pointer and my dads buddy shot a big doe. we passed a bunch of smaller deer to grow for next year. all the deer we saw were in about a 300 yard radious of each other. saw a couple brusiers but wasnt able to get shots off.

oh yeah, all this is happening on public land about 2 miles north of remer.

we also would see a bunch of fresh tracks in the snow when we would be walking out in the morning. we would even see fresh tracks walking in for luch that were not there when we went out in the morning. we will foresure be heading to that spot again next year.

I saw a good amount of deer this year again. I live in Remer and bowhunt so I have a good idea of where the herd is thickest (sometimes). I shot 5 in various spots around Remer. Most were for relatives and friends that didn't get anything. The sightings of deer was a little down, but what do you expect when liberal limits were allowed the past couple of years. I would constantly se deer during bowhunting, but they would always be by the stand that I wasn't in. That's hunting.

gravelle, a few of us have Bow hunted south of Remer for about 15 years and have done very well. We have this spot that was all oak's and they would really move in there to eat. We actually had our best year ever about 3 years ago with about 20 deer a night in the woods and more big bucks then we had seem ever. The next year after that, nothing not one deer seen and we hunt about 5-6 weekends, but wolf tracks everywhere! I'm mean I have never seen so many wolf tracks. This year we seen a few deer doe's mainly during hunting, but on our 2 camras we seen about 10 deer and 5 of them were bucks. So it seems like the wolves drove most of them out of the area, and the few remaining went nocturnal. My buddy and his 12 year old son actually had a bunch of Wolves holling one night on their way out between them and their truck. So hopefully the wolves will move up the road next year and come and visit you! frown
