Can any of you recommend or give me real world pricing on decent cable and or internet (broadband) in Crosslake? I just have rabbit ears and get 3 channels now, but have digital tv, so should be good to go. But my wife wants cable but I am too cheap... heh.
If I can get decent broadband with it I might be able to stay longer on weekends and work from cabin. But if it will cost me $100, or heck even $50 a month I don't want to do it...
Any advice would be great. Thanks, I haven;t called around up there yet, want to know what you find best, DirectTV, Dish, Cable, etc. I am not big sports fan, so don't care about the NFL/NBA/etc. lineup. Thanks!

Do you have Direct TV at home now? If you do you can call Direct TV and have them put a dish on your cabin. It will then cost you an additional $5 per TV for your cabin on your Direct TV bill, plus an additional $5 per TV if you want HD TV in your cabin. Just like adding another TV or 2 at your Home.

If you are looking for broadband internet, the local provider is Crosslake Communications, www.crosslake.net. I believe they also have TV offerings as well. You maybe able to get a package deal from them.

Box, We have the most basic cable from Crosslake Comm. at our place and I believe it's less than $20/mo. You get 4,5,9,11 and a few other local channels. We also do the seasonal deal where they turn it off for 6 months (in the winter) and reduce to about $8/mo and then leave the acct active until Spring, or until when we specify. This avoids the need for a re-hook up fee each Spring.

Ozzie, do you have to have a dish up at the cabin too for that to work, I would like to do this. Currenty we have charter at home and Direct at the cabin, cost a lot of money?
Thanks,

Thanks for all the info guys! I have cable at home - need the uber fast cable Inet so Direct/Dish receiver is out for me... I guess I will just stay with the rabbit ears for now, but if it only costs me $20 that is doable. I rarely watch TV up there anyway... but like my wife says, if the cabin is full of grandkids on a rainy day, it can get pretty small in a hurry That's when I go out to my "shed" - our old cabin that now sports a bar, hehe!
