Looking to pick the boy up something for x-mas in the line of a decent camera for outdoor photos.
1. 35 mm or digital?
2. if digital, how many pixels?
3. user friendly and durable.
4. Lieca cameras still of value like they were before digital?
Thanks

Thanks dogs! Are you looking for a point and shoot or DSLR? Budget? My guess is you are looking for a nice point and shoot. Here are a few recent posts on PS cameras.

Leica has introduced a digital camera in the rangefinder style. If you do a little research you should be able to find out if the old lenses will work with the new bodies.

Well I am sort of a canon guy myself, A good friend of mine just bought the entry level Canon XS SLR camera. about 600. That would leave you 400 to buy a decent lense to add on. Tamaron makes a decent 28-300 zoom for around 400-500 bucks. Try looking for someting like that. Also I have noticed you can pick up a Nikon D40??? for like 600-700 also. Both would be nice entrly level DSLR. One place many of us look for such items is a online shop called Canoga Camera. Google them and you find some good info.
