10 inches of ice on the bay.4 spearing house are out.my buddys went out yesturday and got a few nice keeper notherns jigging for them.all the ice zipple had is gone as of noon today the wind came and got it.hopefully the wind will change and the ice will come back and stay.

Just called Sportsman's. They seem pretty confident about having houses out this weekend. Sounds like things are progressing nicely according to them.

I'm heading up to Zipple tonight (12/7)with 5 other guys to fish Monday & Tuesday. Can anyone give me a current status?

just got a report.9 inches of ice at zipple and the fish are biting.my buddy caught some realy nice suagers 15 to 18 inchers.some nice eyes mixed in as well.cant wait till i get up there this week.by this weekend they might let the bigger houses out with 4 wheelers.

Thanks for the report MN. I would assume that you are going to be up there quite a bit this year again. Will have to meet up sometime to put a face with the name. We were supposed to catch up with you guys last new years but we never made it into shore. Probably be 10-14 days before I pull the house out this year. Will be in a maroon Lodge with the V-front. Always have a cold one

cool cant wait to meet ya. my perm house is forest green with a grey crapper house.and my camper is also forest green.is ya see a dark purple chevy crew cab parked out there its me.and yes i'll be up there quite a bit again.the way its going now might head up thursday or friday mornin.just got my camper done so no more portable up there for me.nick figured friday he would start letting the bigger but still only 4wheeler travel.he might lets ppl drive to the sand bar then 4wheelers from there.depending on the ice but with the weather this week there wont be a problem.

Was up there yesterday and Dianna let me go out as the boys were putting out the houses. The open up offically today (Monday). The fish were biting good in the AM and then slowed big time as the front moved in. Of course I was chasing deer in the morning and missed the good bite. I fished from 11-2:30. I caught 4 decent keepers with no bites until 1:45 and then the 4 fish in the next 45 minutes. That was enough for a meal so I packed up and was not looking forward to the drive back down to the cities. The was about 3 inches of fresh snow and still snowing so the drive was white nuckled until the Red Lake area. There is 9-10 inches of ice at Zipple and the are some areas of pretty rough ice.

im heading up on friday mornin if all goes well.they r running their jeeps out on the lake.10 to 12 inches on the lake.by friday hopefully they will let us drive to the sand bar an unload there.cant wait to pull my camper out this weekend.
