Has anyone been out on Big Sandy, is there any houses out there yet and how much ice in general. I would like to make it up this weekend. I don't need any reports on fishing, just ice. Thanks

3.5-4" is what I've seen. No permanents yet.

With that current in BSL you really have to be carefull on newly traveled routes.

Kieth: What are ice conditions like on some of the smaller lakes in the area? I am thinking of Clear Lake or Dam lake near Glen, specifically! Any one know any other small lakes in Aitken County where they are hardwater fishing. I am hoping for around 6-8 inches? An old fat man like me can't be too careful on the ice, you know? I have always maintained I don't mind taking a bath but at my age I am partial to "HOT" water????

Thanks, I figured there would be 3-5 inches, hopefully by the weekend it should be pretty safe to travel around, although I am staying away from B-Horn. You guys remember last year when that guy almost lost his life, we have to be careful! Without snow, things are looking to shape up really nice! Good Luck

6" on Portage. Drug my buddy's spear house out yesterday with his Argo.

Oh, and there are some permanant houses on BSL on the narrows by Floes' island. But I don't how much ice is there. Seems a little too soon to me.

Uncle Kes we were by Clear lake on saturday and there were 2 decent sized houses (maybe 6x8 or so) out in front of the access. One of them was sitting about 1/2 way out to the island. They were permanent houses not portables by the looks of it.

I will probably drive up on Thursday for a few hours just to check out the ice. I may or may not go out on it depending on hgouw thick it is. But it sounds like their is at least 5-6 inches. Clear can be a bit deceiving what with all the springs in it. But I am getting hungry for a nice supper of sunfish and Clear has always been good about producing them.

If things look OK I will drive over to Dam toward sundown and fish
Walleyes and Sauger. I will let you know.

I would drive over and see you Kieth but it sounds like you are going to be out guiding every day and I probably would not have more time than to take you out to lunch somewhere anyway.

I will have to get up their one day soon. I need some more THE JIG and I want to take a look at some of your new patterns. Do you make them in a scud pattern?

Can I buy them online/ I heard you coluld but I don't know the details/ When last we spoke you were thinking of selling them on [YouNeedAuthorization]? Did that ever happen? Or can I buy them on your Website and have you mail them to me?

Tight Lines;

Uncle Kes

You can't go there here Uncle Kes.
This is a bad ju-ju topic.
Look me up and we will talk.
I'll be home around dark on thursday.Got a date sat and sun...tommorow too.
Did I tell you the fish are biting?

There's hardley any snow on the ice...you should be able to read a spring with the air bubbles present.
We have been making ice all day for awhile now.

Last weekend we drilled a bunch of these.

This guy went 15 oz.

CK, nice pics! Without naming a lake, are those pics on the north end (in the bay)out from the culvert? Usually the last bay to freeze, I think you know what bay I am talking about? I would like to find ya and get some jigs this weekend as well. Are there some guys throwing those hogs back too so there are some left to catch in the future? Good Luck
