Well heck you know exactly were I am on the lake. Yes Dead lake ice can be VERY tricky. And the sunnies must hide when the lake ices over. Because they are every place during the summer.

Was up on OT the last 3 days and yesterday I saw someone on the other side using a portable. The ice sure was making alot of noise. Also saw some people on Rush way out. The picture is from the guy out on OT.

That guy has guts... I drove around a bunch on Sat and the thickest I found was 3 inches of ice on OT and a lot of slivers of open water out there. And talked to a couple of other guys tring to get out there and they to said it was NO good where they tried to get on I think it will be this next weekend before its somewhat safe

I finally made it out last night on Rush. Every where we checked there was about 6". The west end is pretty messed up with pressure ridges everywhere and in every direction. We found a safe spot to cross but I think it took a couple years off my life that's for sure.

went out and fished ottertail tonight with 6 guys on the first break off of pelican bay access. 3 inches of ice on the break, a few scary spots on the way out. Caught a dozen walleyes or so. marked a lot of fish, they were very finicky.

I fished a smaller lake near BL today. 6 inches of ice where I was, but a nasty breaker nearby. That ridge started pumping water when the wind kicked up.

The spot I was on locked up about 6 days before thanksgiving. The breaker area froze a week ago.

I got a good look at West Battle on Sunday, as our church is on the hill above the Shorline. I could see open water over toward Rockmar, and more open areas out in the middle.

Single digits lows coming this week, so that should help lay down some good ice with the lack of snow cover.

fished ottertail out of pelican bay again last night...6 inches of ice. Guys were using wheelers to pull out houses. Fished 14 feet of water, did well on the eyes from 445 to 530. I also caught mulptiple tullipees...thought that was kinda weird. jigging spoon with the tail of the minnow.

Was out on a fergus area lake for just an hour on Saturday before the storm hit. I found 9.5 inches of ice. A few big permanents with wheelers out there. As for the fishing, I lost a very nice eye at the hole, probably around 23-25 inches. The thing just smacked my buckshot rattle spoon.

How'd the lakes fare with snow after the blizzard in the area? I'm guessing there's some monster drifts out there, if was anything like it is here. At least she's makin some serious ice this next week.

The lakes look like the top of a frozen meraingue pie right now. Very rough. I found some slush near shore in a couple spots, but so far it is not too bad (like last year).
