First day I saw two in the headlights on the way home... other than that, I've actually been seeing a lot, second day I saw seven, and last night I saw four.

Nothing close enough for me to comfortably shoot. Although I did see a pretty nice buck at 300 yards, something was chasing him though, and he didn't slow down long enough for me to try to entice him in.

Froggy, if you go to an archery shop in your area most have some bulk spools of fiber. I went to the store in my area and they put a small piece in and melted the ends to keep it in place for free. Could be worth a shot to make a few phone calls to places in your area.

Hey Huntnfish,

That is a great idea, I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip.

3 does, all laying tight only kicked up by making drives. 121,123,151 pounders. saw many deer, all does. no bucks of any sort or fawns. it started to snow at 8 opening morning, so we had a nice 2 inches of tracking snow. we saw tracks everywhere, but the deer, you pretty much had to bend over and squeeze their teat to get em up during the day.

Saw five tonight, all decent does. Closest was at 200 yards.

Had I had a rest, and had it stood broad side, I would have taken a shot at it.

I was out this morning for a couple hours. A bit chilly at 9 degrees. Saw a few nice big squirrels and a beautiful sunrise. I might go again tomorrow morning but to a different stand.

1st time in 15 years I never bought a license. Pretty sad, just haven't seent the deer around here this year. All through rifle season only saw a handfull of deer. Pretty sad for northern MN! Just coulnd't see spending the time in the stand for the "maybe" opportunity to get a shot off. A real dissapointment to me because Muzzloader hunting is something that my Dad and I have been doing together for years and always look forward too, I guess we still could have gone but we just decided to spend the time out on the ice this winter!

Went out last two nights to see nothing from the stand, saw a few on the way to the stand.

Lots of really, really cold sitting, to see nothing but a pileated woodpecker, and a red squirrel. I know they're out here somewhere, but they seem content to be not moving right now.
