Does anyone have any info on deer hunting the Pelican Lake WPA's? I'm not looking for spots or anything like that, I'll do all that work on my own. Just more or less wondering how bad it gets pounded during rifle/muzzy season? Deer numbers fairly high in that area as it is a managed area? I've been over there a few times but never at the right time it seems to find out the info I'm looking for...trying to get the wife a deer with the muzzy and this is one of the few managaed areas that are close. Any info at all is appreciated...Thanks in advance!

i would suggest not going out there this time of the year not much deer move through the WPA's when it starts getting colder like this plus they are pressured all year with bow hunting and firearms plus there are still guys out there for muzzeloder

Ducks get pounded early in the season, but the pressure wears off as the season progresses.

I wouldn't bother hunting pheasants unless you are going to really work for them and get off the beaten path.

Deer hunting can be good. I have seen many deer over the years and taken a couple with-in a mile of Pelican. The second weekend there are some people around, but not as many after deer as you might think. Opening weekend may be a different story though, I never have been around then.

There are 8 different wpa's, wma's (more areas may be coming soon) near the lake and each get pressured differently for different reasons. The best thing to do, is just try different areas and see what works best for you.
