We will be heading out at 1st light. Those that dont have a way out to us make sure you have a sled or house that you can hook to a wheeler or snowmobile and we will get ya out fishing where we are. If you dont have a way to keep your gear from flying out behind motorized transport it makes it hard for someone to shuttle you out so try and do that.
Tim at Hi Banks has my cel # and if you tel him why your there and you need a ride he will not charge you the access fee and call me to come pick you up.
3.5" of ice where we were yesterday so Im betting about 8-10" by then. See ya all there.

Well here is a good one for the get together. I talked to Pappa Woodie this eve. He said he is bringing his big gas grill out on the ice. A big hardy thanks goes out to him.

I got a new one this year, she's big. Lots of sausage/pattys/links can be grilled! Bring an empty stomach and an extra grillable in the cooler!

Sorry about the cut-off Gary.....Hitting the Spirit Mtn area on 35 is a bad reception area for me!

I'm assuming you guys will be out there friday afternoon and/or evening as well?

That's when I'll get my feel for the lake, and if things go good I'll be back there the next morning.

The 1 time I fished the lake (summer of '07) I had really good success with some jumbo perch...does that continue on in the winter? What depth should I be looking for?

JB I will be fishing friday and seeing what I can find for fish to put some folks on. Ill be out from 3:15 til after dark.
I will be out many times before that so I should have a good idea on where to set us up that day.
Do some searching and you wont have any problem finding some fish. They are going good as of now.

Getting close guys. We may even be able to drive out if we keep getting cold and no snow. Cross your fingers.
We have some cool prizes to give out. See the list of donors in my 1st post.

2 1/2 hours from St. Paul. I have made countless day trips up to Fish Lake summer and winter. Real easy drive.

Good thing for no snow. With the highs for next few day below 32 it just might happen for driving.

Ya Gary it could happen but I want a good 14" before we have people driving out there. Unless we go to plan B then it would be a go for sure.

Thanks for the offer Northlander. I may drive up for the day but if I don't and when I figure that out if you still have an opening that would be great. It may depend on the ice thickness. I have no sled or wheeler and my fish house is a suitcase style so I'm not real mobile without my truck.

Chaff, there are usually plenty of guys with sleds or wheelers willing to pull a train of houses if the hot bite moves. Don't let the driveability of the ice with your truck stop you from joining the crowd.
