Hi everyone I'm new to the area up here, going to school in Fargo. I'm looking to get on the ice this weekend and was wondering what lakes anyone can suggest.

I'm looking for walley, crappies, and bluegills.

Thanks for any advice and I'm looking forward to getting to know the Detroit Lakes area!

I would hit Deadshot Bay on Detroit. It gets to be busy but it is a good option.

Should have GREAT ice and you can move around at will.

Lief Lake by Big C is another GREAT early ice option for pannies.

So is out in front of Lakeside on Little Detroit. Easy walk as well. Just a lot of people.

My guess is that Big C is not ready yet -- it just froze over last weekend.
