My brother has muzzle hunted for the last few years and got his first deer Sunday. It was a big doe. We hunt about half way between Pelican Rapids and Barnesville. He had some deer walking closely around him Saturday night in spite of a neighboring landowner driving back and forth on a nearby road trying to heard all the deer back on his land, but couldn't get his gun to work.

been pretty slow as far as seeing the deer -- as this corn comes off that should help.

I have only been out once last Sat. Afternoon. Had a forky and 3 fawns within 40 yards and then saw a doe at about 120 yards. I missed. Dang nab it. Just before dark I had 21 turkeys walk right across an open field and walk within 20 yards of me. Odd that they weren't alarmed by the orange blob. Hope to get out agin later in the week. Some snow would be nice.

Went out this morning for a couple hours. A bit chilly at 9 degrees. Saw a couple nice fat squirrels and a beautiful sunrise.

I took the TC 50 Cal out the last couple of days. Monday evening say one nice 8 point that scented me before I saw him, crashed through the woods, stopped at 30 yards, looked at me with his nose in the air. I reached for the smoke pole and he's gone.

On tuesday only had 1 fawn buck come lay under my stand for 1 1/2 hours, that was it. Too windy yesterday afternoon. "Pike Pickler and I are heading out tomorrow morning for the day. I got 160 acres (woods) of land 5 miles west of Dunvilla and a mile north on 9. They just took off the corn about 1 and half weeks ago, not sure if it's helped. Hopefully we'll see. Good luck. Later, the Perch...

I logged alot of miles both on foot and in the truck yesterday. Most of my time was spent in Tamarac and north of there on the Rat lake trail. I'll say this, That Rat lake area is one BIG area. I jumped two large deer earlier in the day. I'm not sure what they were but they had nice size bodys. Later I set up in the woods off of one of the many trails that branch off of the Rat lake trail. Sat tell dark. Saw Some really nice squirrels and a really bushy fox. No deer. I did see a few spots that looked torn up under some oaks. I might go back out this afternoon.I Took the morning off to sit inside surffing FM and drinking hot coco. We still got some good hunting time left. Good luck

I sat on stand tonight and did alot of walking today. I havn't seen so many wolf tracks in my life. Yes I said wolf trarcks and alot of them. I've hunted in these areas for a few years now and havn't seen this many wolf tracks ever. I can count at least 4 to 1 wolf tracks vrs deer. Thats not Cool if you ask me.
