Also look into Arnesans Rocky Point. We used their sleepers for many years before we bought a place up there. Most of the resorts have sleepers and I would guess they are similarly priced. Another one to look up is escaping my mind right now. Maybe someone else can chime in with the name. I know they go out of Graceton Beach.

I am sure I won't be the first to say thism but early ice and late ice is usually the best time. However, LOW has great days spread throughout the season. Heck, there is never a "bad" time to be on LOW. Afterall, it sure beats working!!!

Have you got your heart set on a sleeper? I've never done much up there after dark other than eelpouts. Your girlfriend might prefer a day house with a nice hotel room after a days fishing with a shower and toilet.

The fishing is slow during the night. Most of the resorts have day houses. Then you can rent a cabin and relax in the evening or explore the local night life.

We've used Lyon Sleeper for several years, decent houses and a great guy to work with. They go out of Graceton Beach area. A quick web search will get the web page and info for you.

As for the day houses there are places that have roads plowed to their houses so you can drive out yourself and fish and there are others that used tracked vehicles(bombers) to take you out for the day and bring you back in the evening.

I have done both and both have their advantages.
Driving yourself out is nice because once you know where your house is you can drive out as early in the morning as you want and stay as late in the evening as you want. The drawback is where there is a road there may be traffic so it won't be quiet.

Bombering out is great because it gets you away from the crowds so it is really quiet. They come by over the course of the day to check on you. The drawback is...you are at their mercy as to when you go out and when you come off you get a full day of fishing but normally you don't get the action at first light AND last light of the day just one or the other.

When to go...early or late is the best, there are good fishing days in the dead of winter but there are more early in the ice season and late in the ice season. Like someone else mentioned....there is never a bad day on Lake of the Woods!!!

It also depends on how much snow they get up there. There have been a couple of the past years that once you got over the road bank, you could go almost anywhere you want with a 4x4.
