There was a boat out in the middle, near cigar, of west yesterday. East looks to have a small open spot in the middle.
I am sure the wind yesterday did not help things any.

West Rush ice varies.
Near Franzen park by dock 4-5"
the bay west of the park 3"
in the middle 1/2" to 2" (it was open yesterday!)

So far today on tipups 1 for 2! 1st bite was a 27" northern which was in the slot so we let it go. 2nd bite nobody home......

GOOD LUCK!

Noticed a couple portables out in narrows at North end of Pokegama yesterday afternoon. Looked like ice as far as I could see towards the South.

I saw portables in many different spots on East Rush this weekend. On West Rush I saw a few out by Cigar Island this weekend but on Thanksgiving day I checked the ice on West and it wouldn't support much weight. I would be very leary of wondering around out there because I don't like cold water that much. I am going to check it out again either tonight or tommorrow.

West Rush is getting close. I was measuring with a tape measure and 100' from the west landing there is 4" of solid ice. I did see 4 portables out there by the tip of cigar. The "City of Shacks" will be forming soon.I went toward the south towards CJ's and found 3"-3 1/2" of solid ice. There is 5-6" of ice near Franzen park. We have been catching a few slot northerns on suckers on tipups at the park. The slot must be working because 3 out of 5 fish are usually 28-30" long. We prefer the 20" "axe handles" for pickling.

Good Luck
