what are the ice reports on elysian? is it 100% frozen over? also, where are some good places to go? north end or south end? never fished it but would like to try once the ice is safe enough.

I fished it sat night from 330 to 700 not a bite the ice was from 3.5 to 4 inchs I was out afew hundred yards most people fish the north side

We were out saturday night for a while, marked a ton of fish, but no takers. Thats a big lake, where is any structure?

There isn't much, I believe there is a small hump on the Janesville side of the lake and a few points but that is about it.

Elysian lacks what most consider typical structure (i.e. rock piles, weed lines, etc) but is absoultely loaded with bottom content-style transition areas and "rolling" holes (or dips) of subtle depth changes. Figuring out Elysian and how to ice fish it is best accomplished by doing your home work during the open water season.

Thanks a lot - I just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to ram my boat through the ice! heheh

Actually, thanks for the tip. I noticed some of this - but didn't quite put it together yet. Hope springs eternal, though.... next year.

There are 10 or so different rock piles out there but some are really small and it takes alot of work to find them and there is one really nice sand bar out there 1ft on top and 8ft on one side 9ft on the other
