the sad part is I did not know the tips were white till I had the breast all picked, then turned it over and saw white tips, never thought I would have EVER mounted a mallard but this one would have been the one to mount IMO. every feather after that point was a god d^M it why did I not notice it.

current, spring, river? How do you keep a spot open when theirs 4+ inches of ice? how do you launch your boat? how do you keep a pocket of open water in front without it freezing?

do your homework and thier is open water closer to you than you think. I know of a few lakes that are still huntable. not a river, not a spring, and no current. just regular ol lakes I do bust to get to open water. and if I am able to break a pocket and hwave it blow away I try and make it big enough so it dont freeze overnight. going everydday to same spot a few days in a row helps too..

I think there are many of these guys who do the same, I could be wrong though.

I'm one of them, have not shot a out of state duck or goose, only in MN! smile this year was a good year for me as well

I also hunt strictly MN.
Quack- I will be going to school up in NW MN starting next fall and have no one thats serious about waterfowling to hunt with. I have private land connections (in some great area's for goose hunting, canada's & snows) up there also. Its so far away I havent been able to get up there but since I will be living in that area I will hit it hard in the upcoming season. If your interested email me.
