Eh idk... needed info on the lake and I got it. Now I know the ice conditions safety wise. If it upsets anyone I'm sure they'll get over it.

I have never fished this lake and this will be my first year ice fishing so I am wondering if anyone would like to show me around this or any other lakes around the area?

Thanks

So is Lotus safe to walk on now? Thinking of going out tonight by the beach.

Made it out there last night with the better half. Surprised with all the pressure out there. I used to fish here a lot about 5-6 years ago and there were never too many people out. We use to slam about 40-80 crappies per house back then too. All in all a good time though. Just so nice to get back out on the ice. We did manage about 15 crappies.

I made it out there last night as well. Pressure is huge on that lake within the past 2-3 years. I was out there Saturday afternoon and it was good up until the high schoolers came in and started cussing like sailors and just being obnoxious fools, then you had the local snowmobiler doing laps around the group of houses fishing near the beach. I could tell it's the same kid that bothers me on that lake during the summer with his oversized wakeboard boat.....turned the crappie bite right off and I left. Picked up about 6 items of trash last night from pigs fishing. I'm starting to really not like fishing this lake much anymore. Don't get me wrong I've met some great people out there, but I've also ran into too many morons. Grogan where were you fishing man? I was on the westside of the beach in a blue clam 460.

I was in the deep hole in front of the beach in a 5600 with the wife. Yeah everyone showing up at prime time and that [PoorWordUsage] snowmobile had really shut off the bite.

Grogan, you must have been the last guy off the lake last night? I packed up at 9:30. Have you ventured to other parts of the lake before? I have plenty of spots picked out from this fall but I am worried about the natural spring locations/thin ice. Any idea about how safe the rest of the lake is?

We were the last ones off grin. I do know of a few other spots on the lake but never on early ice cause there is no way I am going to drag my 5600 out there. The beach is always full but there a couple of other spots that never got hit before.

What's the problem with the 5600? Don't want to drag it out or is it just unsafe right now?

Just too [PoorWordUsage] heavy with all the gear. I need to make a good sled for it to make it a little easier. The other spots are a good distance away say 200 + yards from the beach. I usually wait til I can drive to get to those.
