Jimalm, the name doesn't ring a bell. Do you happen to know what his job title is? I know one of the guys I work with has done some inspection work over in Japan recently. Next time I see him I will have to ask him if he has run into your friend over there. Would not surprise me at all. In fact, I am working outside of Dallas right now and the Project Manager's wife is from Pillager and the Millwright Foreman is from the Wadena area. Sure is nice to chat with folks from back home.

Glenn57, I do a lot of liquid penetrant and ultrasonic testing of compressor blades, eddy current of dovetails, and remote visual inspection of generators on GE 7F Turbines. I assume you are a millwright from what you had mentioned? Do you yourself ever make it out to the gas turbine sites? I only know of a couple in Minnesota, neither of which I have been to.

Brett I am pretty sure he is a millwright or something like that cause it sounds like they rebuild the turbines. Maybe part of a installation or upgrade team.

I've looked at the site for years now. I guess now I finally had something to say so started posting last week. I'm 33 years old. I live in Moorhead, MN with my two sons and dog (lab). I like doing anything that gets me outside. Spend most of my time in the Detroit Lakes area. Love to hunt grouse, deer and go ice fishing. Currently trying to get oldest son excited about ice fishing. He loved it when he was younger. Now he isn't to excited to get out there. I don't want to force it. Any ideas?

Welcome Citori,

The site has been fairly quite today. I agree that you should not force the ice fishing issue. Just keep offering and reminding him how much fun he used to have. Take him to a spoting goods store to intice him. That is just a couple of ideas from me.

Hope

Welcome aboard Citori, nice to have you posting. My brother lives in Fargo and runs the bands at Playmakers or whatever it's called now.

Welcome to FM/HSO Citori! Thanks for posting your bio! I have a son who's just like yours. I don't force the issue but sure wish he'd join us again too. He seems to only go when his cousins head out so maybe let him have a buddy tag along too?

Sandmannd- Playmakers is now called The Hub. I haven't been there, but I guess it's quite the place. I'm not much for going out on the town. Would rather save my money for hunting and fishing.
Lisa- Good idea on the friend coming along. If I can get them both interested I may be in for more than I bargained for. At least I can hope that.

howdy citori, I have a son with aspergers, he has very limited interest an there intense, b ut hunting an fishing arnt any of those interest, so what I did was make it interesting to him, I bought a couple of campers an coverted them into ice houses an made them very acmmodating for him, he can lie down an relax, nap if he wants to, I bought a portable DVD player an a hook it up to a 12 volt to watch movies an charge his nintendo DS, we can cook pizza an have a great time, an he loves to bring a buddy. Money well spent an the best investment I've ever made. Good luck, boar
