Is there enough of a snow dusting that a sled can get around?

Very little snow. Just small patches here and there. There were people using sleds but 4 wheeler works much better right now. That ice can be hard on your sled, better have studs and hope it doesn't overheat.

How come Upper Red makes so much ice??? Here in the east central area lakes we are just starting to walk around on it, and people on Mile lacs are just staying in the bays, and LOW there in the bays also, but you guys are driving 4 wheelers out and going far out there too? What makes upper red freeze faster

North of Mille Lacs = colder, shallower than LOW = water cools/freezes quicker

What takes longer to heat or cool a big kettle of water or a frying pan with a little water in it? We have a frying pan that makes great ice fast but also cooks us into some tough fishing during hot summers.

How's the ice holding up in these high winds?

Oh the ice is locked up and doing pretty good. Lots of cracks and ridges popping up but Hillmans are already cutting safe passage through the bad stuff and seeing solid ice.

Go Buddy Go! Keep your head above water.

Now see, that is a job for Dirty Jobs. Hey, walk out on this thin piece of ice and see if it is safe. Almost as bad as being a mine sweeper.

Thanks for having more b*lls than Ill ever have!

One thing about Buddy Hillman; He is not only bullet proof with nine lives he is also very buoyant!
