Went out a little bit ago and didn't get a bite. Disappointing and definitely discouraging... first year really fishing - is it worth trying to get out this time of year still?

Not really unless you're a die hard or know a good spot. That being said, I'll be out this weekend. Big Buddy heater will be along. I'm not that crazy - sheesh

I'm heading out on Sunday! I'm not sure how it'll go but I'll make sure to stay warm and bring some live bait so I can warm up the hands while the bobber floats!

I went out yesterday for 5 hours. Ended up with 10 bass. The biggest 3 were about 18.5 inches. Once I figured out were they were at, they were acually pretty active. They were positioned on weedy points and inside turns. A 3/32 ounce jighead with a sweet beaver was the ticket. They were hitting it good and engulfing the bait. Very fun day! I'll be back out on Sunday for sure.

Went to Cedar in Wright Cty today caught a few pike missed a few other bites (seemed like bass) Eventually my hands started freezing up and I said goodbye to softwater for a while. I'll spend a few nights getting stuff put away clean out the boat etc... Winter is coming.

Come on gotta fish the soft water until is hard water. I know what you mean my hands were so cold last week its almost like you loose control of them

Made it out yesterday as planned. It was colder than forcasted, but just warm enough to keep the guides from iceing up. Got 11 bass and a big perch. The bass were mostly small with a couple in the 18 inch range. Jigworm got most of them, one on a rattletrap. Just outside the deep weedline on wind blown points.

Yeah once I got cold I could not warm up! That with the wind picking up and fish not cooperating and the the vikes screwing the pooch it was time to hang it up. I'll still do more wading in the river and eventually ice fishing but the boat is getting ready to take a nap. Besides someones gotta finish raking all these leaves! With all that said if it we get a 50 degree day I'll probably be back out in the boat!

I fished last Sunday and it was snowing the whole time. Just flurries, but still. Guides were ok for the first couple of hours then I was only casting about 15 yards and I'm like what the.. then I noticed the ice on the guides - D'oh!

Yup it chilly out there. I may have one last run this weekend before I call it quits and wait for the ice.

Good to hear you guys are still getting out. It is starting to get cold. Any body punching ice yet.

I'm gonna bust my way out to open water on Sunday, it's supposed to hit 42 degrees.

I wouldn't mind bustin' my way out to open water but.........
my lake is froze over shore to shore!!!!
